ISO26262, the international standard for automotive functional safety, governs the functional safety of automotive electronic control systems. It covers the planning, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation and configuration of functional safety requirements. The core objective of the standard is to minimize the risks of malfunctions in automotive electrical and electronic systems through a robust development process, and to provide corresponding safety assurance measures for ensuring the functional safety of such systems throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle. The acquisition of the ASIL D process certification lays a solid foundation for the future development and certification of functional safety products at Changhui Steering.
