XIUNING, Anhui, Nov. 17 (China News Service) – "I never expected a small southern Anhui town at the foot of Huangshan Mountain to be home to a leading enterprise in China's auto parts industry. Anhui's automotive industry truly lives up to its reputation," said Cui Zhishen, Chief Editor of New Zealand's China News Times, in an interview with China News Service on November 17.
On the same day, the 2025 Overseas Chinese Media Tour of Anhui brought participants to Changhui Auto Electric (Huangshan) Co., Ltd. in Xiuning County, Huangshan City (hereinafter referred to as "Changhui"), where they witnessed the robust momentum of Anhui's automotive industry development through the lens of a "small switch".
In the Combination Switch Workshop, over 170 frontline workers are producing automotive combination switches, function switches, clock springs and other products on 28 flexible assembly lines. Tang Jieli, Assistant to the General Manager of Changhui, stated that the company currently has 9 major workshops, including 3 component production workshops and 6 product assembly workshops, capable of manufacturing more than 2,000 types of switch models.
According to Tang Jieli, the company's products are mainly supplied as original equipment to more than 40 well-known domestic and foreign automobile OEMs, and it has become their core supplier and strategic partner. Its products are exported independently to more than 20 countries and regions including Malaysia, the United States, Germany and Japan. From January to October 2025, the company's output value exceeded 1.5 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of more than 25%.
After 50 years of development, Changhui now holds nearly 300 patented technologies, and has led or participated in the drafting of 7 industrial and local standards for automotive combination switches, EGR valves and other products. It has emerged as a National Key High-Tech Enterprise, a Leading Enterprise in China's Auto Parts Industry, and a National Key "Little Giant" Enterprise Specialized, Refined, Unique and Novel.
Cui Zhishen noted that Changhui has grown from a small township enterprise into an industry leader, with its products serving not only major domestic automakers but also the global market, which vividly embodies China's manufacturing sector's firm strides towards integration with the world. While boosting productivity, the company has actively developed new technologies and upgraded its digital workshops, and its experience is highly referenceable. He also expressed the hope to act as a bridge to promote Huangshan's successful enterprises to a broader global stage.
The rapid development of Changhui is inseparable from Anhui Province's forward-looking layout for the automotive industry. Anhui has designated the automotive industry as its pillar industry, and now has gathered 7 complete vehicle manufacturers including Chery Group, NIO Inc., Volkswagen Anhui, BYD Hefei, Jianghuai Automobile Group, Changan Automobile Hefei and Hanma Technology. It boasts a full range of products such as passenger cars, commercial vehicles and special purpose vehicles, with a well-established and complete industrial chain.
According to the database of the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first three quarters of 2025, Anhui Province ranked first in China in automobile production with 2.4044 million vehicles, more than 300,000 vehicles higher than the second-ranked province; its new energy vehicle production reached 1.2163 million vehicles, also ranking first in the country.
